Please be aware that Vega/Orion with a proper license can pubblish for free on the site www.vegaresults.com. The services offered by the site Vegaresults is not covered by the license you get after registration of Vega/Orion. Instead have a look at the terms and conditions of these services on www.vegaresults.com Be aware that Vega/Orion neither support other online publishing platforms nor has authorised others to claim their platform are compatible with Vega/Orion.

To register for Vega and/or Orion please contact me and specify:

  • version you are interested in (Windows, MacOS or Linux);
  • your Federation;
  • who ask a license (person or club).

Please consider that:

The license registered by a person (usually arbiter or organiser) permit to use the program for any chess tournaments that are scheduled or held by that person. The license registered by a club permit to use the program by anyone to administrate event run by that club. No other use is permitted. The registration key is personal and is strictly forbidden to share it. Registration key used in different way will be deactivated. The user/club that already registered a full version for one operative system can register for a different operative system at half price (this option does not apply to the educational version).

Vega+VegaTeam for Windows and MacOS X can be freely used for tournaments up to 20 players. Orion can be freely used for tournaments up to 6 teams.

The Linux version ha no limitations in number of rounds or players and is free (it has disabled the ftp connection and Vegaresults publication) and can be used as it is (no license is required). It is free to allow passionate chess players around the world and in financial difficulty to run chess events with an endorsed FIDE program. Moreover Vega born under Linux thanks to many freeware tools. If you use the linux to run chess tournaments for a different reason then consider to request a paid license to support ongoing development costs. The Linux version CANNOT be used under an emulator running in Windows/MacOS.

The casual arbiter or teacher that needs to arbiter only scholastic or amateur tournaments without rating variation can ask the Educational license at half price. The Educational licenze does NOT allow rating reports to FIDE or any other Federation, but only a generic rating report.
